Every July 16, Empuriabrava pays tribute to the Virgin of Carmen, in a celebration full of symbolism, seafaring tradition and festive atmosphere.
The main event of the day is the maritime procession, in which an image of the Virgin is embarked and paraded along the canals and accompanied by a procession of decorated boats.
The scene offers a unique spectacle, with boats decorated with flowers, flags and music, while attendees throw petals into the sea and pay homage to the patron saint of sailors.
In addition to the procession, the municipality organizes a series of complementary activities, one of the most outstanding of which is live music on the beach.
The day culminates with a fireworks display launched from the sea, a visually spectacular closing that illuminates the sky over the bay and is reflected in the water, providing a magical ending to a day full of emotions.
